Alternate Giving Panel
The Alternative Giving Panel on the Kiosk allows donors to donate by scanning a QR code or donate using a Donor Advised Fund.
QR Code
Each configuration created in the Dashboard will auto-generate a QR code that you can use digitally or for printed materials. When a donor scans the QR code, they will be directed to an online donation flow that matches the configuration you created in the Dashboard.
DAFpay
DAF giving is the process of using a donor-advised fund to make charitable contributions. A donor-advised fund is a tax-advantaged investment account that allows individuals to contribute various assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to qualified charities over time.
FAQs
How do donors use their DAF on a Kiosk?
Donors tap "Donor Advised Fund" from the Alternative Giving Panel and scan a QR code that takes them directly to DAFpay. We intentionally keep this process on a donors phone rather than the Kiosk for security purposes, and pre-populate the organization and designation information you've set in the Kiosk configuration
Which DAF providers are supported?
Through our integration with DAFpay, we support over 1,100 DAF providers including Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, and many more.
How long does it take to receive a DAF donation?
It depends if you have claimed your account with Chariot. See Chariot's Flow of Funds page for more information. Each DAF donation from Kind Kiosk has a button to view the status in the Chariot dashboard.
Is there an additional cost to use DAFpay?
DAFpay is included with all Kind Kiosk subscriptions at no additional cost. Similar to credit card processing, Chariot charges a 2.9% processing fee per transaction, and Kind Kiosk charges a 1.9% platform fee. If donors choose to cover the fees, both fees will be covered.
